The Fairies are the maids of the Fairy Queen Titania that work for her. In Act II, one of them talks with Puck about the work that she does for the comfort of Titania (such as dewing her orbs). At the second scene of the same act, they sing fairy songs for her to help her sleep.
In Act III, they serve Bottom, whose head has been turned into a donkey's and who Titania loves due to the effect of the poison. In the same act, it is also revealed that four of these fairies' names are Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth and Mustardseed. In Act IV, they are again seen obeying the commands of Bottom.
In the last act of the play, they come alongside Puck, Oberon and Titania, as the three give their wishes for the goodness of Theseus's ceremony.
