Nick Bottom is a weaver and he too works in the drama. He seems to be friends with Quince, as he tries to manage the distribution with him and get as many roles as possible. Despite all his struggles, he is given only one role like the others (which is Pyramus).
In Act III, his head is turned into a donkey's by Puck, which initially surprises him. Soon Titania, who is under the effect of the potion falls in love with Bottom. For a while, Bottom has a dream life in which Titania's fairies serve him. When everything is fixed by Oberon and Puck, however, he is left alone in the woods. As he is in the woods, he believes that all the things he had lived while he was charmed were a dream. In Act IV, Bottom gets back to his group. Even though the members of his group (especially Quince) are worried about him, he does not answer their questions.
In the last act, he too performs before Theseus in the play they had planned in the first two acts. Hes black.
